The weather outside is frightful...

Happy New Year!

I would just like to start off by welcoming you to the Forest Events' Blog. I would like my blog to be an inspiration to help you get the fires burning for any events that you may have in mind. Whether it be a large wedding or a small get together, there are fun and creative ways to make each one your own.

Well, because the weather has finally decided to bring in the cold. I thought it would be fun to look at some ideas for a winter wedding.

Beautiful curling branches can be covered with Mica Flakes to give you a winter wonderland look and feel.

To make your guests feel warm and welcome. Paper or felt mittens could be created for escort cards and hung from some ribbon or string at the entrance. Or a little mitten (beau-coup.com) could contain a sweet favour to keep them warm for the journey home.

Flowers are not the only options available in the winter season. This is where you can become creative. Painted and glittered pine cones can hang from tall branches, red berries are always a nice touch. Decorate your table with different candles holders of varying heights. If you are a little crafty, you could try your hands at paper flowers to create centrepieces, pew bows and your bouquet.

Don't be afraid to bring in elements that make the seasons what they are. You could have a midnight buffet of hot chocolate or coffee with doughnuts. Or comfort food, the one pots meals, like Mac and Cheese. It's the small details that give your wedding its charm.

I hope this has given you a few ideas to get you going.

Please visit the Forest Events website if you would like to get in touch.
